The Energy Hierarchy - Lean before Green

Energy Installers are in a unique position to advise on the selection of renewable and microgeneration technologies, But they also need to bear in mind the strong financial arguments for encouraging energy efficiency first.

To reduce a buildings carbon footprint , it is important that a simple energy hierarchy is used.

1. Reduce the need for energy in the buildings design.
2. Use energy more efficiently in the building.
3. Supply energy from renewable sources

This applies equally in new and existing buildings.

Renewable Energy Magazine - Microgeneration focus

Today I discovered a very interesting magazine which can also be downloaded online. I was attending an exhibition looking at ways of making fleets more efficient via the use of telematics and driver efficiency training and reporting when I saw the first real sign of renewable marketing from a 'mainstream' section of the media.
